Further Expansion at Petagenics – The Dog DNA Testing Co.
Petagenics are thrilled to announce the decision to relocate its company to Future Space, University West of England (UWE).
‘Future Space is part of one of four University Enterprise Zones in the UK. The West of England University Enterprise Zone provides facilities and services to companies specialising in robotics, biosciences, medical technologies and other high tech sectors… The University Enterprise Zone has been led by UWE Bristol, with support from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership’.
Being housed within a purpose built science facility enables Petagenics to access and engage with leading scientists, academics and innovators. Future Space also brings funding opportunities that have the potential to see Petagenics further develop its UK operations.
Steven Lawley, Commercial Director, commented:
“Since we established Petagenics in 2018 we have pioneered a new, simple way of offering canine DNA testing services in the UK.
Canine genetic testing companies in the UK have rested on their laurels, they have watched science evolve and technology advance, they have witnessed efficiencies being driven into genetic testing and the cost to test reduce dramatically, however, these savings have not been passed onto the customers. I am determined to ensure that the cost of DNA testing our dogs in the UK is reduced, without compromising on integrity and quality. Cost is the biggest barrier preventing DNA testing for hereditary conditions in dogs, this needs to change.
As we enter our next phase of growth, we are delighted to be relocating to the Future Space science facility in Bristol. This move will help us achieve our objectives, and deliver our promise to make DNA testing in the UK ‘Easy, Accessible and Affordable”.
"This is an exciting time for our customers, our dogs, and of course the Petagenics Team.”
